Preston and I love the mountains, especially Sundance. It has such a special place in our hearts. When we both moved up to college we spent a lot of time hiking and exploring on our free days up there. It was a perfect getaway and only 20 minutes up the canyon from us. Last September I planned a picnic up the mountains one afternoon after church. We packed a nice lunch, blankets, drove up the canyon, and hiked up to one of our favorite places near the beginning of the Stewart Falls hike. Little did I know Preston had his own plan in mind. That afternoon during our picnic Preston knelt down on one knee and popped the BIG QUESTION! Me thinking this was totally my idea to come up here, he had no part of it, I invited him to do this, was SHOCKED! I of course was completely in love with him and said “yes”!! Still the best decision I have ever made. We also had our wedding day in those same special mountains.
Preston on my birthday asked for dinner if I wanted to pack a picnic and have dinner back up in that same spot where we got engaged. (my birthday is just 4 days before) It was a cold day so we packed chicken noodle soup and fresh French bread. (which I love and is the only soup I like! Ha!) We parked our car and started hiking over to our spot, there was a couple walking just about 10 feet behind us; we came around a corner and there was this adorable little table set up with candles in the middle of the forest. I immediately started panicking grabbing Preston’s hand pulling him back, thinking we were ruining someone’s engagement! Preston continued to pull me forward, coming to find out it was actually for us! I was once again so surprised! It was absolutely adorable! I love my sweet husband and am so grateful for the great joy that he brings into my life!
22 is going to be amazing! T-Swift I can finally sing along 😉
