This Thanksgiving my dad decided to have us all go to Texas! It was my first time being in Texas, besides just plane layovers. I was pretty excited for this Holiday, I love traveling to new places! We stayed just 15 minutes out of Dallas in Flower Mound, right on the edge of Lake Grapevine.
My dad loves doing house swaps! You know, in the movie The Holiday where they switch houses for a week? I always just thought that was a fun made up thing for the movie, but its NOT! Its REAL! My dad has been doing it for a couple of years now and its always so fun to stay at new homes.
The house we stayed in this time was so unique. It was surrounded by huge trees in the front and backyard with a hiking/biking trail right down to the lake! It was beautiful. They decorated their house in such a fun way as well! It was covered in old business, traffic, state, etc signs! Every bedroom had the coolest vintage signs that they had collected over the years! It was a very cozy lake house, that we all fell in love with! Oh! something that was so funny…they left their CAT! Yes their own pet to stay with us for the weekend. We would wake up in the morning and find that fluffy kitty (my dad named him/her? who knows, Zipper) asleep at the foot of our bed! ha!
I love this time of year, it helps me reflect on what I’m grateful for. I love being able to look back on the year and see how far I’ve come. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with loved ones and lots and lots of yummy food!
