Chocolate Banana Bread
I have a terrible habit of letting my bananas get too ripe fast! Thankfully they are PERFECT for banana bread! And what makes banana bread even better? CHOCOLATE! I grew up with my mom making this recipe! You can use this recipe for muffins or a loaf! So yummy! Put your bananas to good use!
Chocolate Banana Bread Recipe:
1/4 pound of unsalted butter (1 stick)
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups of unbleached all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup mashed bananas
1/2 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 chopped bittersweet chocolate
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
With an electric mixer, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, beating well.
Sift the dry ingredients together and combine with butter mixture. Blend well. Add the bananas, sour cream, and vanilla. Stir well. Stir in the chocolate.
*You can spray your pan/muffin tins or use parchment paper to prevent sticking.
For Muffins: Pour into muffin pan and cook 25-30min until golden brown on top.
For Bread: Pour into bread pan. I use a 9×5. Cook 50-60min until golden brown on top.
Let cool. You can also top with powder sugar! Enjoy!
